Great Canadian Kilt Skate Rescheduled

We’re back! Twice named as The Kilt Skate Capital of Canada, Winnipeg is going to defend its bragging rights again in 2024.

Where: The Duck Pond, Assiniboine Park

The warm weather on February 11 forced us to reschedule, so we’ve moved the date forward to February 25 — same place, same time.

The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg is proud to announce the return ofthe Great Canadian Kilt Skate, which will take place on February 25, 2024, at Assiniboine Park at the Riley Duck Pond from 1 to 3 pm. Please join us as a skater or supporter!

The event is open to all ages and is free to attend. President Peter Heavysege said, "It's free, fun, and you don't have to be Scottish, wear a kilt, a tartan, or even plaid to come out for a skate."

Great Canadian Kilt Skate -- Winnipeg

Don your full kilt and regalia, or slap on a bit of tartan, but join us in celebrating Scotland’s contribution to Manitoba’s multicultural mosaic.

This year, we not only will welcome back the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders, and many of our Ukrainian newcomers, but also entertainment for those who will not be skating. We are planning games, prizes, trivia contests, and dancing for young and old alike to enjoy the day.

And finish in time for all to get home before the Super Bowl!
