Montreal rescheduled -- for a second year

Hosting a kilt skate outdoors leaves it vulnerable to the vagaries of weather. For the second year in a row, extreme weather warnings in Montreal have forced the St. Andrew’s Society to postpone for a week. The Great Canadian Kilt Skate is rescheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2-4 p.m.

Last year, a blizzard roared into town the scheduled day of the event.

Some people who had come all the way to Montreal skated anyway.

When the rescheduled event did take place a week later, many said it was the best Montreal kilt skate ever.

This year, the extreme cold and frostbite warnings have persuaded the organizers that it would be wise to postpone the event by one week. We have every hope that the rescheduled event on Saturday, January 26, at the Natrel Skating Rink in the Vieux Port will be even better. On y va!
