Skate with the Glasgow Clan

Location: Braehead Arena. Kings Inch Road, Renfrew.

As a warm up to February 8’s Great International Kilt Skate, Renfrewshire is inviting skaters to don their kilts and tartans to join the Glasgow Clan hockey team in a public kilt skate.

For more than a decade, Canadians have been celebrating Scottish culture by taking to the ice in kilts. They call it The Great Canadian Kilt Skate. For much longer than that, Scots have enjoyed playing Canada’s national game. We all call it hockey.

In a series of community-focused skating events, the Glasgow Clan hockey club will collaborate with the Great Canadian Kilt Skate in an international celebration of Scottish heritage and culture, showcasing the bond between Scotland and Canada.

  • Public skating where Clan fans can skate alongside their favourite players.

  • Clan players will don tartan homee jerseys and special sporran shorts.

  • Several Clan players who have personal links to Canada will be interviewed.

Public Skate Times:

  • 12:30-13:30

  • 14:00-!5:00

  • 15:30-16:30
