DUE TO WARM WEATHER, THE 2026 CALGARY KILT SKATE HAS BEEN CANCELLED

January 17, 2026

Due to unusually warm weather, the city has advised us this morning that the outdoor skating venue for this years Kilt Skate has been closed due to safety concerns, effective immediately.

We had everything ready for this weekends event but unfortunately, this unseasonable weather is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Mother nature had other ideas, this years +15c temperature stands in stark contrast to last years – 40c.

 Due to scheduling issues for the next few week, we have reluctantly cancelled the 2026 Kilt Skate but remain hopeful that next year’s weather might return to more hospitable winter condition allowing for a successf
