Kilt Skate Returns to Toronto

Kristy Van Hoven reports from Toronto where she hosted the Great Canadian Kilt Skate on Saturday, February 3.

“It was a wonderfully warm sunny day in Toronto and the Evergreen Brickworks Weekend Market was in full swing when a small but mighty group of kilted skaters took to the ice.

“We stayed for countless laps (about 2 hours) catching up with friends and stretching our legs. We even made some new friends along the rink who often stopped us to ask about our tartans and what the celebration was! Here's hoping for another great skate in 2025!  Reach out to Kristy at guthriedancers@gmail.com if you want to get involved.”

Although this is her first year organizing Toronto’s kilt skate, Kristy’s association with the Great Canadian City goes back many years to when the event was held on the ice at Nathan Phillips Square.

Wonderful that she has found a new home for the Toronto event at the Evergreen Brickworks. Congratulations, Kristy!
