Report from Halifax
/Alex MacCulloch reports from Halifax:
Wow, another successful Great Canadian Kilt Skate in the books, thanks to:
The Scots - a Scottish Society who support the event each year(especially President Beth Anne MacEachen who is still thawing out!),
Our post skate pub "The Beaver's Den" who supplied us with great service, food, drink and fantastic live entertainment,
Kathleen Higgins School of Highland Dance,
the Dartmouth District Pipe Band and my wife who hates the cold but pitches in!!
I'm not gonna lie it was cold, like really cold(I heard minus 20 with the wind chill!), wind gusts up to 60 km/hr and by times heavy snow,
But yet they came braving kilts and bare knees…in numbers that surpassed last year!
I ask you, what other heritage events combines culture, leg day and a pub stop?
Stop thinking about it and do it,
See you next year!
Fresh air is great for the soul
